Where I Bloom
During the COVID-19 lockdown, my perspective as a Street and Documentary Photographer underwent a remarkable transformation as I started photographing my home. This transition from capturing the bustling streets and human interactions to photographing the quiet corners of my living space initially filled me with uncertainty.
However, the lockdown gave me a chance to slow down and really see the world inside my home. I decided to use my smartphone for all my photos and chose not to include people, focusing instead on the objects and spaces we leave behind. This shift let me create images with a minimalist, graphical, and ambiguous style.
As I explored this new form of photography, I became more observant and started noticing the wonderful little things around me each day. I saw the play of light and shadows, intricate patterns, framing opportunities, vibrant colors, and the often-overlooked details in my home.
Photographing my living space helped me connect deeply with the familiar yet unexplored environment. This journey of self-discovery and creativity within my home became a source of comfort and inspiration during uncertain times. It showed me that even in confinement, the world is full of wonders to document, highlighting the transformative power of photography.
